WildAire Summer - Blending, Bottling and Fun!
Dear Robert
Summer is here, we even have a little sun to prove it.
Great news!  We are ready to release our 2009 Pinot Noir Reserve.  It has all of the candied cherry fruit from Clay Court vineyard combined with the spice and dark fruits of Shea Vineyard and the pretty BIng Cherry notes from Zenith Vineyard.  It's a dandy.  We will throw a little party to celebrate its release, maybe at the end of July, just to have a party!
June and July are my favorite months at the winery.  The 2010 wines, still  in barrel, are starting to perk up and show their stuff.  We are working on the blends for our 2010 vintage.  This is difficult work, tasting new wines morning, noon and night.  It can actually be a bit grueling on the palate, but I think Matt and I are up for the job. Bottling will be August 25th.    We've got Castille's mobile bottling truck coming out to the winery in Dallas for about half a day of working on the assembly line. Let me know if you are interested in helping with this endeaver.
We're excited to be part of Walk in the Park this year.  This is my absolute favorite outdoor wine festival.  Wineries are selected to participate who have a facility within the Yamhill-Carlton district AVA for this event. Special thanks go to Ken Wright Cellars who sponsors and manages the event.  This event has everything, food cooked by amazing local restaurants, local art and artists, a classic car show and fun music into the evenings and about 40 participating wineries.
Our wine shop is now open Daily from 12-5pm.  Please stop by for a taste and to say hello!

Carlton's Walk in the Park , a benefit for local charities, combines fabulous artists and musicians with outstanding local restaurants and wineries for one magical summer weekend in Yamhill County’s wine country.

Skyraider Release Party
Helicopter Tours & The Release Of Our Estate Reserve
Sunday, July 10th
12 - 4 PM

Take a bird's eye view of the stunning Dundee Hills

To celebrate the release of our coveted Skyraider Estate Pinot Noir, we are featuring helicopter rides above resident vineyards. In its second year, the Skyraider is our only estate reserve and is named after the plane our owner John McClintock flew while a Marine pilot. The 2008 Skyraider is our highest scoring wine to date, achieving a 92 in the Wine Advocate and placing first in the Northwest Wine Retrospective at Ray's Boathouse in Seattle. We expect the same, if not more, from our 2009.

We're devoting the day to the 2009 Skyraider, a barrel-select Pinot Noir with rich toffee notes and an uncanny depth of dark fruit flavors. At just 80 cases, this wine won't last long. Drop by for a taste and stay for a helicopter ride through the Dundee Hills.

As pretty as our wine country landscape is from land, the scene from the skies is truly incredible. Please call or RSVP via email if you'd like to purchase tickets.

Helicopter Ride and Flight of Wines: $60/person

The helicopter ride is a roughly eight-minute loop over the northern Willamette Valley. We've partnered with Konect Aviation of McMinnville. Rides depart and land from our owners backyard, a short walk away from the Treehouse Tasting Room.
