WildAire Cellars Update

Tasting Room: 128 W Main St, Carlton, OR      (503) 851-3689           www.WildAireCellars.com
                                                              October 2011
Dear Robert

We have grapes!  So we will have crush!  Matt drove up to Washington last Monday and we processed our Syrah, Tempranillo and Roussane on Tuesday.   Maridel and the Fisters were key in helping us get started.    We now have a couple of days of maybe wet, and then another week of sunshine.  Everyone is breathing a sigh of relief and planning on harvesting next week.  The Pinot Noir should be spectacular, if the birds don't see it.  If anyone is interested in helping us next week, let me know.  Sorting grapes is fun! We have 4 more vineyards to harvest. Your efforts will be rewarded with wine.  mailto:jean@wildairecellars.com .

Our Friday Night Forum Wine Club pickup party is this Friday, October 21st, at our house.  Please RSVP, if you have not already, if you will be able to make it!  We will have some leftovers for the shop on Friday-Sunday, so if you cannot make it Friday night, stop by this weekend. We would love to catch up with you all!

WildAire Summer - Blending, Bottling and Fun!

July 2011
WildAire Summer - Blending, Bottling and Fun!
Dear Robert
Summer is here, we even have a little sun to prove it.
Great news!  We are ready to release our 2009 Pinot Noir Reserve.  It has all of the candied cherry fruit from Clay Court vineyard combined with the spice and dark fruits of Shea Vineyard and the pretty BIng Cherry notes from Zenith Vineyard.  It's a dandy.  We will throw a little party to celebrate its release, maybe at the end of July, just to have a party!
June and July are my favorite months at the winery.  The 2010 wines, still  in barrel, are starting to perk up and show their stuff.  We are working on the blends for our 2010 vintage.  This is difficult work, tasting new wines morning, noon and night.  It can actually be a bit grueling on the palate, but I think Matt and I are up for the job. Bottling will be August 25th.    We've got Castille's mobile bottling truck coming out to the winery in Dallas for about half a day of working on the assembly line. Let me know if you are interested in helping with this endeaver.
We're excited to be part of Walk in the Park this year.  This is my absolute favorite outdoor wine festival.  Wineries are selected to participate who have a facility within the Yamhill-Carlton district AVA for this event. Special thanks go to Ken Wright Cellars who sponsors and manages the event.  This event has everything, food cooked by amazing local restaurants, local art and artists, a classic car show and fun music into the evenings and about 40 participating wineries.
Our wine shop is now open Daily from 12-5pm.  Please stop by for a taste and to say hello!

Carlton's Walk in the Park , a benefit for local charities, combines fabulous artists and musicians with outstanding local restaurants and wineries for one magical summer weekend in Yamhill County’s wine country.

Memorial Day Tasting, Music and more!
We are now open daily from Noon-5pm at our wine shop in Carlton.  Take a break, visit Carlton for a leisurely lunch and afternoon of good tastes.
This weekend we would love to share with you our new release of the 2009 Shea Vineyard Pinot Noir at our tasting room in Carlton.  This bold and beautiful wine pairs well with your steaks on the barbeque!  We will prepare Willamette Valley cheeses and Skipanon Smoked Salmon dip to meld with the flavors of our wines. We will also extend a 15% discount on 3 bottle sales of this wine throughout the weekend. We will put out the spread Friday through Monday.  On Sunday we will have a musician to further the ambiance.  John Harr will be playing soft sounds on his guitar from 2-5pm.
Thank you, friends, for enjoying our first WildAire across America toast from coast to coast and Friday Night Forums. On the west coast we barbequed a lamb, on the east coast salmon and a roast were consumed. But the best part is connecting with friends. I love you all!

Our big of event for June is a scavenger hunt.  28 businesses are sponsoring this event, with prizes, discounts and fun!
