Sarvers Wine Club Opens

Greetings from Sarvers!  We’re in the midst of preparing for a beautiful summer filled with delicious new wines, an expanded menu, and fun events.  We are in the process of updating our site, so please stay tuned!  In the meantime, we’d like to let you know that we have officially launched our wine club!  If you are interested in joining please call me at 541.935.2979 or stop by the winery to fill out the form.  (It may be a couple of months before we are able to offer the form online.)  You’ll find all the details below, please feel free to call with any questions:

We are happy to invite you to join Sarver’s Wine Club where you can enjoy our fine wines at discounted prices and attend exclusive Members Only events at the Tasting Room.

It’s all in the details:

•       Receive 3 shipments of wine each year, or pick up your wine at the Tasting Room.  Enjoy a 20% discount on these wines and all case purchases out of the Tasting Room.  (Shipments will include 3-4 bottles of wine, with a dollar value not to exceed $80.00, plus shipping and handling*.  If you opt to pick-up your wine, you may exchange wine from our Wine Club selection for one of your choosing  . . . )

•       Enjoy a 15% discount on all off-premise wine bottle purchases, all the time.

•       Indicate your preference for red, white, or both when you join, and we will ensure you receive the style of your liking.

Good News?

Ignorance is bliss, but it's not very good for your health. U.S. News Health reports that 76% of 1,000 American polled agreed with the statement "wine can be good for your heart." Hey, the good news is: That's true, but only if you consume two glasses per day if you're a man and one glass if you're a woman. Otherwise -- and here comes the really bad news -- excess drinking can lead to all kinds of problems like irregular heartbeat, obesity, cancer,

high blood pressure and even heart failure.

Not only that, but Americans are also ill-informed about sodium, believing (56% of those surveyed) that ordinary table salt is the primary source in our diets. (61% believed, incorrectly, that sea salt had less sodium than regular salt.) All you have to do to understand that most of our sodium comes from processed foods-soups, snacks, condiments and canned foods like tomato sauce (why do you think they taste so good?) -- is to pick up a container of seemingly harmless cottage cheese and read the label. It will show that an eight-ounce serving contains about 720 milligrams of sodium, or half your daily recommended intake.

Americans are also famously bad at geography, but there's no word yet on whether young people are having trouble locating Napa and Salt Lake City on maps.

Our performers bring a youthful exuberance to the stage that reflects their commitment to great music and  their rich and varied experiences in classical ensembles and competitions.  The attached YouTube piece is one part of the Beethoven Serenade.  We hope you can join us to hear these wonderful musicians bring this great music to life!!

Flute:               Esther Fredrickson graduated from Oberlin Conservatory in 2009 and is now at U. of O. pursuing her Master’s degree with Molly Barth.

Violin:             Sigrid Karlstrom began violin at age 5, received her Bachelor’s degree in violin performance at the U. of New Mexico.  She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in violin at U. of O. with Fritz Gearhart.

Viola:              Justin Lader studied viola performance at Oberlin Conservatory and is currently a graduate student at the U. of O. School of Music.

Cello:               Josh Weissenborn began cello at age 10, studied several years with Barton Frank, a protégé of Gregor Piatigorski before relocating to Eugene where he has since been under the tutelage of Steven Pologe at the U. of O.

As most of you know, seating is limited in our tasting room, so reservations are required.  Please call the winery at 541-459-7998 or respond to this email.
